PATELLOFEMORAL PAIN SYNDROME (PFPS) PFPS is a broad term to describe pain at the front of the knee and around the patella. PFPS is common in people who participate in sports however, can occur in non-athletes. PFPS causes pain and stiffness which makes it difficult to climb stairs, run, kneel down or simply so day-to-day activities.
